Für die beiden Galerieräme der Galeria Miejska Arsenal in Poznan und des austriackie forum kultury in Warschau, beides Polen, entwickelte sich Alien City zu einer Installationsvariante: An der Stirnwand je eines der grossen Galerieräume eine 10 Meter lange Panoramaansicht von Alien City in dem Zustand, in dem sich die Stadt im Oktober 2002 gerade befand. Diese Panoramaansicht wurde mit einem Digitalgrossdruckverfahren auf Bauplane realisiert. 4 Meter vor diesem Panorama waren zwei Miniaturmonitore in den Raum gespannt, auf denen unsere beiden Avatare - Sid und Hana - vor einer Webcamsequenz zu sehen waren: Sie blickten aufmerksam im Raum umher, und von Zeit zu Zeit begannen sie mit den BesucherInnen zu plaudern - als FremdenführerInnen durch die virtuelle Stadt. |
A special intallation-version of Alien City was developped for the very exhibition situations in the Galeria Miejska Arsenal in Poznan and the austriackie forum kultury in Warsaw, both in Poland: A panoramic view of Alien City - 10 meters wide - was installed at the facing walls of the gallery spaces, showing the city in its very state in October 2002. This panoramic view was realised as large scale digital print on tarpaulin. In front of this panorama two miniature monitors were mounted in the space, where our two avatars - Sid und Hana - watched the room. From time to time they began a casual talk with the visitors on site - playing their role as tourist guides through the virtual city. |
