Hermi Pohl

 
Hermi Pohl was born in 1958 in the village Steinakirchen (Lower Austria).
She now lives and works in the city of St. Pölten.
Since 1987 Hermi Pohl has intensified her involvement in the medium of photography.
She has done this through her participation in numerous workshops organized by the "Fotoinitiative-Fluss/Wolkersdorf" of Lower Austria. These workshops were led by Gottfried Bechtold, Sabine Bitter, Leo Kandl and Heinz Cibulka (Naples).
From 1998 to 2001 Hermi Pohl continued her education at the "Prager- Fotoschule-Österreich" (the Prague-School of Photography in Austria), where she finished her diploma.
 
"Humankind is the main focus of my photographic work. I approach this theme from a social or political perspective, with a special emphasis on authenticity and intimacy."
