Traces

About 100.000 Jews lived in L'viv (Lemberg, Lwów) at 1930. In my search for Jewish life in town I found only ruins of the synagogue and mezuzot, which left traces at the entrances of the former homes of the Jews.

Mezuzah (plural: mezuzot) is a small case and refers to one of the commandments in Judaism, which requires that a small parchment scroll inscribed with two sections from the Torah (Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and 11:13-21) be affixed to each doorpost and gate in a Jewish home, synagogue and business.

Today the Jewish population is about 200.
