For ensemble and computer-aided biofeedback instrument

A set of multi-functional sensors transmit pulse frequency, skin resistance, breath frequency, temperature and muscular tension of the performer to a computer-aided biofeedback instrument. These physical data are converted into a MIDI-data stream which, in the case of this piece, is used to conduct the musicians.

The performer's bio data function as a virtual conductor.

In the case of "Reflexion" the performer's bio data are not transformed into sound data. Via a display these data are made visible for the musicians. The permanently changing parameters of pulse frequency, skin resistance, breath frequency, temperature and muscular tension are - depending on the performer's concentration and relaxation - the trigger for playing instructions, standing for a catalogue of micro-compositions, interpreted by the ensemble.

The ensemble functions as the real body of the virtual conductor.
