What is planned is an event that acoustically connects the entire Siebenbrunnenplatz with other places which also bear transitional cultural circumstances. Such are located in the direct vicinity of the square; others are located all over the world (from Vladivostok in Russia to Vancouver in Canada).

For one entire day, from sunup to sundown, life from many squares will be breathed into this square. The architecture will begin to sound, the buildings will whisper and speak; the place itself will tell stories. Not a huge stage will form the centre of these happenings but a number of small situations, scattered over the entire square, which can be discovered by each and every visitor and passerby individually, as they stroll through the square.

Artistic intervention comprises two levels, the common motif and material of which represent the human voice:

Geplant ist ein Event, das den gesamten Siebenbrunnenplatz akustisch mit anderen Orten vernetzt, die kulturelle Übergangssituationen in sich tragen. Diese sind einerseits in der näheren Umgebung des Platzes situiert, andererseit verstreut über die ganze Welt (von Vladivostok in Russland bis Vancouver in Canada).

Einen Tag lang - von Sonnenaufgang bis -untergang - wird somit dem Platz virtuell das Leben von vielen Plätzen eingehaucht, die Architektur beginnt zu klingen, die Häuser flüstern und sprechen, der Ort selbst erzählt Geschichten. Nicht eine große Bühne ist das Zentrum des Geschehens, sondern viele kleine auf dem gesamten Platz verstreute Situationen, die die BesucherInnen und PassantInnen flanierend sich erwandern, sie für sich entdecken können.

Die künstlerische Intervention gliedert sich in zwei Ebenen, deren gemeinsames Motiv und Material die menschliche Stimme darstellt:

Electroacoustic projection all day; not overpowering emanation of sound but various tone locations, integrated as well as possible into the surroundings. A soundscape, generated by sounds typical of this place, mixed with live noises from places chosen from all over the world. The universal acoustic material: the diversity of human voices in all their different languages, intonations, dialects and manners of speaking, characteristic for each place. These recordings and sounds will be electronically processed and broadcasted into the square as soundscape in a special live mix, changing over the course of the day with the pulse of the surrounding everyday life. New sound situations will continually emerge. The acoustic appearance of the square will be changed for one day, and with it its physical boundaries. One place could virtually be at many other places, and many other places could be at this place.

Ganztägige elektroakustische Projektion; keine übermächtige Beschallung, sondern verschiedene Tonorte, bestmöglich in die Umgebung integriert. Eine Klanglandschaft, generiert aus den für diesen Ort typischen Geräuschen, vermischt mit Livegeräuschen von ausgewählten Orten aus aller Welt. Das durchgängige akustische Material: die Vielfalt menschlicher Stimmen in all ihren verschiedenen Sprachen, Sprachfärbungen, Dialekten und Redeweisen, die für diese Orte typisch sind. Diese Aufnahmen und Geräusche werden elektronisch bearbeitet und in einem speziellen Live-Mix auf den Platz als Soundscape eingespielt, verändern sich im Lauf des Tages, im Puls des Alltagslebens ringsumher, immer neue Klangsituationen entstehen. Das akustische Erscheinungsbild des Platzes verändert sich für einen Tag und damit auch seine physischen Grenzen. Ein Ort könnte virtuell an vielen anderen sein - und viele andere an ihm.

The entire Siebenbrunnenplatz will become the site of action of a (musical) performance, which will apply composition, human voice and instruments. Not a central stage but actions, arising again and again, scattered over the square. Physical manifestations of a global situation.

Der gesamte Siebenbrunnenplatz wird einen Tag lang zum Aktionsfeld einer (musikalischen) Performance, die mit Mitteln der Komposition, menschlicher Stimme und Instrumentarium arbeitet. Nicht eine zentrale Bühne, sondern über den Platz verteilte, immer wieder auftauchende Aktionen. Physische Manifestationen einer globalen Situation.

If possible, sound/installations/performances in at least two other places should be realised synchronously, which are based on similar ideas in their content. What develops is on site mirrors of situations, so to speak, (which is something quite ordinary on the Net).

Similar situations are to be artistically reflected with similar methods. Varying approaches, as culturally or individually influenced, will, however, produce completely different aesthetic results. In the shifting process of this synchronised global network, it is these uncertainty principles which will lend a decisive quality.

Wenn möglich sollen zumindest an zwei anderen Orten Klang-/Installationen/Performances zeitgleich realisiert werden, die von ähnlichen inhaltlichen Überlegungen ausgehen. Es entstehen quasi On-Site-Spiegelungen von Situationen (etwas, das im Netz durchaus übliche Praxis ist).

Ähnliche Situationen werden mit ähnlichen Mitteln künstlerisch reflektiert. Kulturell oder individuell gebundene differenzierte Sichtweisen werden aber völlig unterschiedliche ästhetische Ergebnisse bringen. Im Shifting-Prozess der synchronen globalen Vernetzung werden genau diese Unschärferelationen zur entscheidenden Qualität.
